COMO EL VIENTO. LIKE THE WIND.

COMO EL VIENTO. LIKE THE WIND.

Much of my work features hearts – sometimes one, sometimes more. Corazones are the centerpiece of my art, bringing a sense of healing and spirituality to myself, my collectors, and other viewers.

This is my first blog post since the end of 2020, a year marked by the pandemic, chaos, and the notorious toilet paper shortage in the land of plenty.

This post also marks the launch of my revamped, new-and-improved website. I hope this means I'll stay on top of updating the blog, even if it's just sharing sketches from my journals. These sketches are fun and often spark new ideas.

A little about this piece, Como el Viento. Like the Wind. I started this piece sometime in 2021 as a monoprint background, and then either in late 23 or early 24, I finished it as a painting. Sometimes a piece gets done well on its own time.

This is one of those pieces. The three hearts in this piece are not about time travel, passion, or lust. They represent fleeting thoughts and emotions – fleeting hearts. Like the wind, they’re here one minute and changing direction the next. I liked the energy in the background, which gave it a sense of a "turbulent" wind vibe. The background called out for more than one heart. Wish granted.

The piece was exhibited in my Frequencies solo exhibition at Royse Contemporary in Scottsdale in February and March of 2024. It remains one of my favorites from that exhibit.

Check it out in the Corazones section of my site. Simply go to the MY WORK tab and click on Corazones. You'll find this piece along with other colorful hearts in there.

Stay colorful. Stay healthy. Ciao.
